Very innovative design from Einar Hareide and Anna Oren, the Jotul 373 wood burning stove is purist and functional in its design and opens up new possibilities of how to make use of a stove in a room. What is innovative about the stove is that it can stand free almost anywhere in the room and thus creates a new living room quality. It features a detailed design, unique precision in the cast iron, and can be operated from all sides. Furthermore, the wood burning stove can be rotated 360 degrees when it is fitted with a flue outlet at the top and with a turntable. In order to adapt to a variety of different interiors, the basic models of the three stoves in this range can be fitted individually and combined with a variety of leg sets.

The stoves can also be fitted with an additional glass front panel that lowers the surface temperature on the front. Another unique and well-conceived feature is the decorative panels for the side windows. The panels protect walls and furniture from direct radiant heat and create evocative shadow figures on the walls. In order to give the experience of true open fire, the wood-burning stove has been designed with large glass sides ? giving a direct view on the elementary play of the flames.

First impression at Toyota Hi-CT car might not make you say “wow”, well we agree that the design is somehow not as stylish as we expect it. On the other hand, Toyota’s team of you Japanese and European designers claimed that Hi-CT is a reflection of what a cool and great vehicle should look like, they want to create something that make people stop and take a good look.

The Hi-CT is a plug-in hybrid with a 1.5L motor and uses lithium-ion batteries, which are located underneath the floor of the vehicle in order to maximize the interior space of the car. While it looks quite boxy and big, it is in fact quite small. The entire vehicle is 3.3 meters long, 1.6 meters wide and 1.7 meters high. It is, effectively, a cube on wheels. Due to the tiny size, it can only carry two persons. However, being a “lifestyle” car, there’s enough space inside it for everything that an active user or two could need. The rear trunk can be modified so that surfboards, bicycles and camping equipment can be carried around for those days where you need to get out to nature.

Looking at inside of the car, we might hear you say “wow” because of its futuristic design, the exterior now doesn’t seem to matter anymore.

The peugeot design contest theme was re-invent the ‘Drive of Your Life’, six letters sum up the philosophy of this fourth invitation to the creativity: P.L.E.A.S.E. !

As explained by Mr. Mihai Panaitescu, 20, student of I.E.D. Turin major in Transportation Design the concept peugeot flux was to design a vehicle that pleases it’s occupants in every way. It’s versatility combined with it’s sportiness and the ability to use it in different environments are in my opinion some of the vehicle’s strong points.

Either as an explorer of sandy beaches, sweeping mountain roads, or simply commuting in the city, the Flux concept embodies a vehicle that is made to please. It’s dynamic shape and open air cockpit make it lively and fun to drive as the occupants are always in contact with their surroundings.

The name Flux was inspired by the continuous change and flow of our daily lives during work and play.The shape also represents this flow with transitions through hard and smooth lines, between straight and curved all of which are characteristics of Peugeot.A relatively small car (3500cm long by 1650cm wide), it runs on a slim hydrogen power plant hidden in the back along with the tank mounted under the front bonnet. The hood and side body panels are made from plastic, polyurethane for the seats and aluminum for the mechanical parts. The main components such as the chassis and head protection are metal. Made up of simple body work (basic intersected volumes) the car is easily produced and accessible to everyone but most of all, it’s fun to drive.

Adding to this, the car is also a gaming hub thanks to the integrated Xbox 360 so P.L.E.A.S.E. hop in!!!
